off the hook
hook 是钩子，没错就是虎克船长手上的那个钩子，
而 "off the hook" 就代表免于究责或是免于某项东西的责任，任务已完成啰！
【例句】
Alice finished her thesis before the graduation ceremony. She is finally off the hook after the torture for months.
Alice 在毕业典礼之前完成她的论文了！她在好几个月的折磨后终于解脱了！
all in a day’s work
直接翻译是一整天的工作，
但其实衍伸的就是分内的工作哦！可以在表达谦虚时使用。
【例句】
A: Thank you for all the things you have done for the school. You are the best principal ever.
A：谢谢你为学校做的所有事，你是有史以来最棒的校长了！
B: It's just all in a day's work. No problem.
B：是我该做的，没什么。
a golden handshake
handshake 是握手，这可不是什么死亡之握！
但虽然是黄金之握，意思却也不完全是正面的！
它代表员工被解雇时或离职时收到一大笔遣散费或是退休金，
要依照上下文来判断意思。
【例句】
Because of the deflation, Anna was laid off and forced to move back to her hometown. However, she received a golden handshake which was probably enough for her to use until finding the next job.
因为通货紧缩，Anna 被裁员且被迫回到她的家乡。然而，她收到了一大笔离职金，应该还足够她找到下一份工作。
move up in the world
这个英语短语用来表达变得非常成功、不断进步的意思，
move up 可以想成持续地前进，是不是好记多了呢？
【例句】
It turns out that Timmy moves up in the world after working day and night for years! I am really proud of him.
看起来 Timmy 在好几年日以继夜的工作后事业变得相当成功，我非常替他感到骄傲。
be snowed under
snow 是雪，但是这跟雪可是一点关系都没有哦！
用来形容非常忙碌、忙到不可开交，当然也可以想成在雪的下面，
听起来就很沉甸甸，也就是被工作压得喘不过气。
【例句】
Despite the fact that the consultant was snowed under lots of work, she still kept learning something new after work.
尽管这个顾问工作非常忙碌，下班后她仍持续学习新的事物。
be sacked
sack 作为名词是袋子、麻袋的意思，但同时也是解雇，
因此当听到 get the sack 时，就是被开除了。
get sacked 也是一样的用法，但比较少见。
【例句】
Leo's father was sacked due to some minor mistakes. Now he has to begin working to lighten his family's burden.
Leo 的爸爸因为一些小犯错被解雇。现在他必须要开始工作来减轻家里的负担。
by the sweat of one’s brow
sweat 是汗，brow 是眉毛，
当汗都流到某人的眉毛时，就代表非常勤奋的工作。
【例句】
If you want to realize the dream, you have to work by the sweat of your brow. No matter how difficult it is, keep going.
如果你想要实现梦想，你必须要非常勤奋地工作。不管有多么困难，持续前进。
learn the ropes
rope 在这里不是绳子的意思哦！
整个短语是学到窍门、非常在行的意思，在商业场合中相当常见。
【例句】
In order to learn the ropes, Elsa spent lots of time taking notes and asking questions. She hoped to be an expert in her field in the near future.
为了要掌握窍门，Elsa 花了许多时间做笔记及问问题。她希望在不远的未来成为这个领域的专家。
