【英语口语】讲话太直会被白眼！教你如何用英语委婉、有礼貌地表达想法

学英语学了这么久，却发现课堂上似乎很少提到要如何委婉表达意见，
如果直接用中文使用逻辑去看待英语，可能会常常无意识地冒犯别人，
那到底怎么说才能有礼貌地表达意见呢？今天就让 Engoo 带大家深入了解吧！
四大常用方法：
一. 善用助词（would, may, could）
助词的使用是最容易懂，也最好上手的方法，
想请求帮忙时，将助动词放在句首就可以了。
【例句】
I want a cup of tea.
→ I would like a cup of tea.
我想要点一杯茶。
Can you pass me the salt?
→ Could you pass me the salt, please?
可以请你递盐巴给我吗？
I have to borrow your notes for last week.
→ May I borrow your notes for last week?
我可以跟你借上周的笔记吗？
二. 改变句子的结构
在英语里，现在简单式听起来比较直接，但如果把时态改成过去式或者是进行式，
一样能表达当下的诉求，而且语气会变得委婉、更容易接受。
这个方法常常会跟动词 wonder, hope, think, want 一起使用。
【例句】
Can you give me a lift?
→ I wondered if you could give me a lift.
→ I was wondering if you could give me a lift.
→ I am wondering if you can give me a lift.
我想知道你可不可以载我一程。
I want you to come to my wedding.
→ I was hoping you could come to my wedding.
我希望你可以来参加我的婚礼。
I think she is not suitable for the job.
→ I thought she is not suitable for the job.
我认为她不适合这份工作。
三. 使用较模糊的表达方法
适当加入一点形容词或副词模糊焦点，可以让你的意见不那么刺耳直接。
这个用法常会跟 a bit, around, kind of, a few, quite, slightly, a little 一起搭配。
【例句】
Could you copy me on the e-mail at around 2 pm?
可以请你大概下午两点时发送这封信的副本给我吗？
The budget is a bit large.
这个预算有点太高了。
四. 利用反问间接说明自己的想法
除了以上几个方法，利用反问也可以让对方获得选择的空间，
同时达到不咄咄逼人，又能表达意见的效果。
【例句】
I think the project is hard to launch.
→ Don't you think the project is a bit hard to launch?
你不觉得这个项目有点难推动吗？
You need to check the list one more time.
→ Shouldn't we check the list one more time?
我们是不是该重新检查这份清单？
负面消息的婉转说法
1. can't 改成 unable
I can't finish the task by tomorrow.
→ I am unable to finish the task by tomorrow.
我没有办法在明天之前完成这个工作。
2. 使用以下句型作为开头
(1) Unfortunately,...
Unfortunately, we don't take credit cards.
很抱歉，我们不提供刷卡服务。
(2) I am afraid that…
I am afraid that I am unable to have dinner with you tonight.
我今晚恐怕不能和你一起吃晚餐了。
(3) I am sorry…
I am sorry to inform you that the meeting has been postponed.
很抱歉要告知你这个会议已经延期了。
3. 先给对方肯定，再提出自己意见
No offense, but...
无意冒犯，但是...
I hear what you're saying, but...
我明白你所说的，不过...
I would love to go out with you, but I have to work.
我很乐意跟你出去，但是我得工作。
