bun 是指小圆面包，而 oven 则是烤箱的意思，
英语中用烤箱里的小圆面包来比喻母亲肚子里的孩子，
因此 have a bun in the oven 其实是怀孕的意思。

Mom, we have exciting news to tell you. Gina has a bun in the oven!
妈，我们有一件令人兴奋的消息要告诉你。Gina 怀孕了！
babe in the woods 没有经验的人
woods 指的是森林的意思，一个小孩冒冒失失的闯入森林里，
想必没有意识到森林里的危险性，
因此就用 babe in the woods 来形容毫无经验、容易上当，或是像小孩般天真的人。

When it comes to starting a business, we are all babes in the woods.
说到创业，我们都是毫无经验的人。
born on the wrong side of the blanket 私生子
字面上的意思是出生在毛毯错误的一端，
这其实是比较委婉的方式说明未婚父母所生的孩子。

信不信由你，林先生的大儿子是私生子。
a (real) chip off the old block (性格、行为等) 酷似父母亲的人
chip 指的是碎屑，block 则是木块的意思，
脱离木块的木屑是用来比喻性格、行为、长相或是兴趣酷似父母的人，
此说法一开始是来自 a chip of the same block ，
表示来自同一个家族的两个人，后来才演变出现在这个说法。
【例句】
Like his father, John has a talent for music – a chip off the old block.
就像他父亲，John 同样在音乐上很有天赋，
like taking candy from a baby 很容易
从小孩的手中拿走他的糖果，
用此说法来比喻一件很容易达成的事。
【例句】

回答你这个问题就像从小孩手里抢糖吃一样容易。
like a kid in a candy store 对周围的事物非常高兴、激动
糖果应该是大部分小孩都非常喜欢的东西，
因此来到糖果店里的小孩想必对周围的事物都会感到非常兴奋与激动。

sleep like a baby 睡得像宝宝一样甜
睡得像宝宝一样甜，用来形容人睡得很好、很安稳，
相似的说法还有 "sleep like a log"，log 指的是圆木，
一个人在床上像圆木一样，一动也不动的安睡，也是代表睡得很好的意思。
【例句】
Kelvin sleeps like a baby every night.
Kelvin 每晚都睡得像宝宝一样香甜。
throw the baby out with the bath water 把重要东西一起丢掉
baby 在此说法里代表重要的事物，
而 bath water 洗澡水则是本来就会倒掉的东西，
因此一般会用 "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water."
提醒人不要不小心把重要的东西连同不重要的一起丢掉了。
【例句】
Don't throw the baby out with the bath water when you're deleting the old files on my computer.
你在删我电脑里的旧文件时，可不要不小心把重要的东西也删了。
