Negotiate (v.) 谈判；协商
“讨论" 的通称是 discuss，
而较正式并带有强烈目的性以达成某种协议的讨论，
则是 negotiate（谈判；协商），其名词为 negotiation。
- negotiate for + N （如 negotiate for the pay raise 协商薪水调涨）
- under negotiation 尚待协商
【例句】
After a long period of negotiation, they finally reach a consensus.
经过长时间的协商，他们终于取得了共识。
Implement (v.) 实施；贯彻
impelement 的中文翻译有很多，
但其本质是表示 "有效率地使用" 或 "实践行为或计画" 这两个意思。
意思就如同 carry out（进行；执行）、accomplish（完成；达成）、
- execute（进行；执行） 和 enforce（执行；强制）。
- implement a plan 实施计画
- implement a policy 实施政策
- implement the legislation 贯彻法律
- implement the directive 贯彻指示
- implement the reform / change 实施改革、变革
【例句】
The government implemented a new policy after the nationwide demonstration.
在全国示威游行后，政府实施了新的政策。
Communicate (v.) 沟通；传达
communicate（沟通）亦即 "将信息传递给他人" ，
而这个单词可作为及物动词和不及物动词，以下会做详细的举例。
此外，其名词也就是 communication，除了做 "沟通" ，
也是学科 "传播" 的英语，因为传播的本意就是将信息有效地传递。
【及物用法】
- communicate sth with sb 和某人谈论与某事相关的话题
- communicate sth to sb 把消息传递给某人
【不及物用法】
- communicate in sth（语言） 用某种语言和他人沟通
- communicate with sth (e.g. hands) 用某方法与他人沟通
- communicate with sb 和某人沟通
【例句】
Since they both can only speak their own mother languages, they simply communicate with their hand gestures.
因为他们都只会说自己的母语，所以只简单地用手势进行交流。
Recruit (v.) 招聘；征募
recruit 是一个及物动词，表示寻找并招募适合的人员来到你所属的机构或公司工作。其名词为 recruitment。
- recruit + 职位（如：recuit a new sales manager 招募新业务经理）
- recruit an army 招募军队
【例句】
During the crisis, the company stopped recruiting new employees.
危机期间，公司停止招聘新员工。
Authorize (v.) 批准；授权；允许；认可
authority 是指 "权威；当局" ，
而同样字源，authorize 则可理解为权威当局所做的行为，
即 "批准；授权等" 意思，意同 give approval or permission，
也经常以被动形式出现。其名词为 authorization，通常过程中会包含签名形式，以兹证明。
- N + authorized by ...（如：a custom authorized by time 被时间验证的习俗）
- be authorized to + V（如：She is authorized to represent her company. 他被授权为公司代表。）
【例句】
The supervisor authorized the transfer of the funds.
主管授权转移资金。
Merchandise (n.) 商品；货品 / (v.) 推销；经营
merchandise 多半是指在市面上流通的货品或商品，
而他也可以当作及物动词使用，表示 "推销；经营" 。
- good 货物的泛称，属于生活和商业中皆会使用的名词；
- cargo 通常是由船或飞机装载的货物；
- commodity 商品，可表示成品、半成品或什至原物料；
- merchandise 一般代指商业上销售或商家拥有的货物总称。
【例句】
Shoppers love the high quality merchandise and reasonable price in the store.
消费者喜欢这家店优质的商品及合理的价格。
Inventory (n.) 存货、库存； / (v.) 清点存货
inventory 和 inventor 并无关连，是指在仓库中或存货中所拥有的所有物品。
【例句】
One of his jobs is to update the inventory list every day.
他的其中一项工作是每天更新库存。
Turnover (n.) 营业额；流通；人员流动率
turnover 是一个有趣的名词，在商业上的用法，
有最主要的三种意思。其一为 "（一定期间的）营业额、交易量，
和公司销售后的收益有关；其二为 "（货物）流通率" ，
即公司贩售出的商品和新存货递补的比例，
如 inventory turnover（存货周转率）；
其三为 "人员调整流动率" ，表示公司员工去留的比率。
【例句】
Companies in Silicon Valley usually have high turnover of staff.
硅谷的公司员工流动率通常很高。
Distribution (n.) 分配；分发
动词 distribute 表示分配、分发，
而其名词则为 distribution，
商业中特别指将货物分送到各个商店和通路。
- distribution cost 分销成本
- distribution channel 销售通路
- distribution center 配送中心
【例句】
It’s hard to come to an agreement about the distribution of the profit.
利益的分配很难取得共识。
Profitability (n.) 获利
profit 表示利润的精确数字，
而 profitability 更像一个概念、概括性的描述，
是一种衡量公司效率（efficiency）的指标。
- achieve / reach profitability 取得获利
- increase / improve / boost 提高获利
- long-term / short-term profitabilty 长期／短期获利
【例句】
Managers discussed the new policy to improve profitability of the product.
经理们讨论提高产品获利的新政策。
