渴望的、热切期待的、急切的，
形容非常想要某个事物、做某件事情，
通常为有趣、令人开心的事物，或极为期待某件即将发生的事。
【例句】
It seems that Maggie is eager to have a birthday party.
Maggie 似乎很期待生日派对。
I have never been abroad, so I am really eager for the travel.

be avid of...
渴望的、热衷的、干劲十足的，
形容急迫的想做某件事情，或对一件事情特别感兴趣。
【例句】
She haven't seen her boyfriend for a month, so she is extremely avid of meeting him.
她已经一个月没跟她男朋友见面，所以她非常渴望和她男友见面。
Since Mary is a warm-hearted person, she is an avid supporter of philanthropies.
