【英语写作】作文必备：常用连词总整理 Part 1

多数人在面对英语写作时，应该都十分头痛吧！不知道如何下笔、开头、收尾。
不论是准备考试或是在职场，我们都有越来越多需要透过英语表达自己意见的时机。
首先，小编要先澄清一个观念，一篇好的文章，绝对不是 "使用艰涩、生硬的词汇、构句复杂、长篇大论" 。
想要写出一篇优秀的英语作文，不外乎是文章脉络清晰、用词精确（但是这不代表要用生硬的单词！）。
首先，就来解决逻辑性的问题吧！妥善使用连词能够让文章内容前后呼应、条理分明，
读者也会比较容易了解你想表达的意思。话不多说，赶紧进入主题吧！

Addition 此外
用途：多置于句首，补充更多想法或内容，或接续前面讲的内容再多做说明。
Furthermore / Moreover / Also / Even more / Further / On top of that / Besides / What’s worse（负面）
【例句】
That woman looks really pretty. Furthermore, she has a kind heart.
那个女人除了长得很漂亮之外，还拥有一颗善良的心。
Andy was dumped by his girlfriend recently. What's worse, he was laid off by his employer.
Andy 最近被他女友给甩了。更糟的是，他还被老板炒鱿鱼。
Additionally, / In addition, + 从句
In addition to + 名词 (n.) 或动名词 (V-ing)
【例句】
I like to eat cakes. Additionally, I enjoy having ice cream as well.
= In addition to cakes, I enjoy ice cream as well.
除了蛋糕之外，我也喜欢吃冰淇淋。
First (of all) / Firstly / Second / Secondly / In the second place / Next
【例句】
Firstly, it is my pleasure to have an opportunity to have an interview with you. Secondly, I would like to know if you have reached the decision of the position of the internship.
首先，与您面试是我的荣幸。再来，我希望知道您是否已经定下了此实习职缺的人选。
Again, 再重申一次，
【例句】
Again, I like to put emphasis on this issue.
我想要再次强调这个议题。

Contrast 对照、对比
用途：描述两相异的观念及想法
尤其适用于各类考试中，当题目希望你发表个人意见时，
我们又不希望全然偏颇某个论点时，可以运用下列连词来带出相异的想法。
Yet / However / Nevertheless / Nonetheless 然而
【例句】
She burned the midnight oil yesterday to study for the midterm exam. Yet, she still failed the test.
尽管她昨晚挑灯夜战复习这次的期中考。她还是考得不好。
Otherwise, 否则（不然的话）
【例句】
You should devote yourself more to preparing for the final. Otherwise, it is very likely that you will flunk this subject.
你必须投入更多心力准备期末，否则，你这门课很可能会挂科。
After all, 毕竟
【例句】
Be nice to your sister. After all, she is older than you.
对你的姐姐好一点。毕竟她比你年长。
On the contrary, / In contrast, 相反地
【例句】
Teacher John is really patient with his students. On the contrary, teacher Jenny does not pay much attention to her class.
John 老师对他的学生十分有耐心。相反地，Jenny 老师并没有十分关心她的班级。
but / though 但是（通常置于句中）
【例句】
I know John, but I don't understand him.
我认识 John，但我不太了解他。
You will never understand what John is thinking, though.
然而，你永远不会摸透 John 在想什么。
On the one hand, … On the other hand, …一方面，另一方面
【例句】
On the one hand, I'd like a higher-paying job, on the other hand, I enjoy the work I'm doing at the moment.
一方面我想要一份薪水更高的工作，但另一方面我也喜欢现在的工作。

Intensification 加强语气
用途：加强写作语气，更加肯定文章中的论述
适当地运用以下连词，能使读者感受到你对于主题的坚定态度。
Indeed, / In fact, / As a matter of fact, 说实话、事实上
【例句】
Indeed, I do not like math at all.
说实话，我一点也不喜欢数学。
certainly 的确、确实
【例句】
You certainly have the qualifications to be the manager of that company.
你的确有资格担任那间公司的经理。
Without a doubt, / Undoubtedly, / of course / Surely, / By all means, 无庸置疑地、理所当然地
【例句】
Undoubtedly, you should take the responsibility.
毋庸置疑地，你必须负起责任。

Cause and effect 因果关系
用法：表示前后内容是有因果关系的论述
Therefore, / Consequently, / Thus, / Hence, / As a result, 因此
【例句】
I did not arrive at the bus stop on time. Consequently, I was late for the class.
我没有准时抵达公交站，所以我上课迟到了。
Accordingly, / According to + N. 根据
【例句】
He was too sick to complete the competition. Accordingly, he was forced to quit the game.
他的身体太不舒服以至于无法完成竞赛。因此，他被迫放弃这项比赛。
