【英语口语】只会 I think 吗？快来看看有哪些替代说法可以让你听起来更自然！

有时候你想要回答别人的问题，但对答案不太确定；
有时候你想要发表意见，但又不想要听起来太武断。
在这些情况中，以 I think 开头的确是满通用的选择，
不过，在日常会话和英语写作中如果能用别种用法，
整体会显得更自然且不单调喔！
这次 Engoo 就带大家来看看除了 I think 以外的五种说法！

I'd say … 我会说......
I'd say 是 I would say 的缩写，
意指 Based on what I know, I think…（就我所知，我觉得......）。
当我们说 I'd say 的时候，
代表我们对于那件事不确定，不过心中大概有个底，
而且也有理由来解释为什么会有这样的想法或猜测。
【例句】
A: Is it common for people to have pets in your country?
养宠物在你们国家是件盛行的事吗？B: Yes. I'd say that most of my friends have cats, and one or two have dogs.
是的。印象中我大部分的朋友都有养猫，也有一两个有养狗。
在上面这个对话中，B 没有 100% 确定自己身边的朋友有多少人有养宠物，
所以他只能透过记忆和印象去估算，也就是中文会说的 "印象中、好像" 。
如果把 B 的回答完整展开来看，
就会是From what I know, it seems that most of my friends…（就我所记得的，好像我大部分的朋友......）
下面再提供几个范例对话：
- A: Is it faster to drive to New York or to take the train?
要去纽约的话是开车还是搭火车比较快？
B: It depends on the traffic, but I'd say driving is usually faster.
看交通的情况。不过我觉得通常是开车比较快。 - A: Do you think Sarah enjoyed the party?
你觉得Sarah在派对上有玩得很开心吗？
B: I'd say so. She was the last to leave! ["I'd say so" = "I'd say she did."]
我觉得有耶。她一直玩到最后才离开。

I'd imagine … 我会想像......
I'd imagine （= I would imagine）就是 "我没有证据，但我会想像..." 的情况。
【例句】
A: I want to be an actor.
我想成为演员。B: How many hours would you like to work each week?
那你想要一周工作几个小时？A: Well, I'd imagine the hours would be quite flexible. If I had the choice, I'd only work about 10 hours a week.
我想我的工时应该会很弹性吧。如果我有得选，我会想要一周只工作十小时。
在上面对话的情况中，可以看得出来 A 不是演员，
而且身边可能也没有家人朋友是演员，所以他不知道演员一周真正的工时。
因此，当他说 I'd imagine the hours would be quite flexible，
他的意思是（While I don't actually have an idea,） I think it's likely that actors have flexible work hours. （［虽然我不知道，］我会想像演员的工时应该都很弹性。)
下面再提供几个例句：
- I'd imagine a therapist will be able to help you sort out your problems. [= I've never seen a therapist myself, but I think it's likely that you would benefit from seeing one.]
我觉得心理医师可以帮你解决问题。（我没看过心理医师，但我想心理医师应该会对你有帮助。） - I'd imagine that the words "poke" and "poker" are related in some way. [= I haven't looked this up, but I think it's likely they're related.]
我会觉得 "poke" 和 "poker" 这两个词有关系。（我没查过词典，我自己判断它们应该有关系。）

I like to think that … 我会这么想……
I like to think that ... 意指 I'm not sure if other people agree, but I think ...（我不确定别人会不会同意这个想法，但我觉得......），
有点介于 "发表意见" 和 "期望" 之间。
【例句】
A: Who in your family do you get along with the best?
你跟家里的谁最好？B: I like to think that I get along well with most of my family, but I'd say I have the best relationship with my dad.
我觉得我和所有家人相处得都不错，不过硬要我说的话，我想应该是和我爸最好吧！
在上述对话中，B使用I like to think that ...，
因为他不确定其他的家人是不是能同意，
但他自己是这么想的，而且也希望其他家人同意。
后面又根据自己的回忆说出了 I'd say …的句型。
以下提供更多范例：
- I like to think that I'm a good friend. [= I think I'm a good friend and I hope my friends agree.]
我觉得我算是一个很好的朋友。（我觉得我这个朋友当得不错，而且我希望我朋友也同意。） - I like to think that our company's products have changed the world. [= I think our products have changed the world and I hope others agree.]
我认为我们公司的产品改变了世界。（我这样想，且希望别人也是这么想的。）

I can see … 我猜……
I can see … 的意思就是 I don't know for sure, but I think ... （我不确定，但我想......）
【例句】
A: Do you think teachers will be replaced by computers in the future?
你觉得老师这个职业未来会被电脑取代吗？B: I think it's likely that teachers will be replaced, but maybe not entirely. There probably won't be robot teachers, but I can definitely see some kind of AI (Artificial Intelligence) being used in the classroom.
我觉得老师有可能会被取代，但应该不是完全取代。或许机器人老师不会当老师，但我敢说人工智能等的科技一定会应用于课堂上。
在上述对话中，B 是在对未来做猜测。
他不是很确定会发生什么事，
不过对他来说，他坚信人工智能是真的有机会被应用在教育，
所以他加了 definitely 来强调自己的信念。
以下提供更多范例：
- A: Do you think you'd enjoy studying astronomy ?
你觉得你会喜欢天文学吗？
B: Yeah, I can see myself enjoying it. I've always been fascinated by the stars. [= I think I would enjoy it.]
我觉得我会喜欢，因为我一直都觉得星星很迷人。 - A: Do you think the stock market will crash next year?
你觉得股市明年会崩盘吗？
B: I can see that happening next year — maybe even this year.
我觉得明年会，甚至可能今年就会崩了。
注意！I can see … 后面接的从句的动词要用 V-ing 的形态喔！

My understanding is that … 我的理解是……
My understanding is that … 跟 I'd say … 很像，
就是 Based on what I've learned, I think … （就我所知道的事实来说，我觉得......）。
这个说法因为没有用到 "I（我）" ，所以会听起来更客观一些。
【例句】
A: Would you rather work for a start-up or an established company?
你会比较想在新创公司还是知名企业工作？B: I value stability, and my understanding is that 90% of start-ups fail, so I'd go for an established company.
我比较重视稳定性，而就我所知，新创公司十有八九会倒，所以我会选知名企业。
在上述对话中，
B 说不确定但好像有印象在哪里看过 "90%的新创公司会倒" 的数据，
可能是在新闻或杂志上看过，但不管是在哪得知这个消息的，
用 My understanding is that …
是不是听起来比较客观，而且好像很有智慧呀！
以下提供更多范例：
- I don't have a background in economics, but my understanding is that higher interest rates slow down inflation .
我没有经济学的背景，但就我所知，提高利息会帮助抑制通货膨胀。 - Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that eating too much red meat is linked to cancer.
就我所知，吃太多红肉跟罹患癌症有关联。如果我有说错敬请指正。
