走路有很多种描述方式，除了最简单的 walk 之外，

ramble 漫步

【例句】

I like to ramble around in the country.
我喜欢在乡间漫步。

stroll 散步

【例句】

We stroll along the river.
我们在河边散步。

plod 沉重的走

【例句】

The explorers plod wearily to the top of the hill.
探险家拖着沉重的步伐登上山。

pace 踱步

【例句】

The man was pacing nervously in the corridor due to the coming interview later.
这位男子因为待会的面试紧张得在走廊间踱步。

strut 昂首阔步

【例句】

The models were strutting along the catwalk.
模特儿有自信地走在伸展台台上。

stride 大步走

【例句】

The student strode onto the platform to give a speech.
这位学生大步走上讲台演讲。

march 迈进

【例句】

The troops marched by the platform.
军队从平台旁齐步走过。

tiptoe 踮起脚走；蹑手蹑脚地走

【例句】

The thief tiptoed into the store in order to steal things.
小偷为了偷东西，蹑手蹑脚地走进商店。

跑

rush 冲；奔

【例句】

For fear of being late, Jessica rushed to the train station.
为了不迟到，Jessica 用跑的到火车站。

sprint 奋力冲刺

【例句】

In order to win the prize, Jim did his utmost to sprint to the finishing line.
为了赢得奖项，Jim 使出他全身的力气冲到终点线。

徘徊

loiter 游荡

【例句】

Do not loiter on your way to school, otherwise you might be late.
不要在你去学校的路上游荡，否则你可能会迟到。

stray 迷路

【例句】

A policeman took the old man who had strayed in the park home.
警察带那名在公园迷路的老先生回家。

艰难地走

hobble 跛行

【例句】

The old man hobbled along the street with the aid of his stick.
这名老先生拄着拐杖在街上蹒跚地走着。

limp 跛行

【例句】

With one leg hurt, Patrick limped（跛行）home.
Patrick 拖着一只受伤的腿一拐一拐地走回家。

【补充】 hobble vs limp

hobble 通常是在描述一个人走路的步态不稳，看起来走得有点糟糕的样子。

limp 则是比较明确说明一个人因为脚受伤所以走路不稳的样子。

stagger 蹒跚

【例句】

I saw a man who was drunk staggering on the street.
我看到一名醉汉在街上蹒跚而行。

stumble 绊倒

【例句】

The girl was stumbled upon by the stone on the floor.
女孩被地上的石头绊倒。

trudge 跋涉；艰难地走

【例句】

He trudged five hours in the heavy rain to get back home.
他在大雨中跋涉五个小时才回到家。
