小编的大学室友是个热爱各种香气的狂热份子，耳濡目染之下，
小编也逐渐认识许多国外知名的香水品牌，
逛街时也喜欢到门市试闻香水，并从中一点一滴累积了一些香水的小知识。
以下将分享香水的种类、基调、特性等，
说不定看完之后，你也会跟小编一样掉入这个超级烧钱的香水坑！
首先，泛指各种闻了心情会愉悦的香气使用 fragrance 这个词；
香水则是 perfume，而 scent 通常用以形容天然、自然的香气，例如花果香。
喷或擦香水，我们可以使用说 put on perfume 或 wear perfume，
如同穿衣服，香水就像穿戴在身上的一个配件，所以使用 wear 这个动词。
【例句】
Wearing my signature perfume to interviews boosts my confidence.
去面试时擦我的经典款香水（最喜欢的香水）使我感到更有自信。
香水的种类
依据香精与酒精比例所得出的浓度 (concentration)，香水可以分为以下四种：
- parfum 香精，浓度 20-40%，持久度最长
- eau de parfum 浓香水，浓度 10-20%
- eau de toilette 淡香水，浓度 5-10%
- eau de cologne 古龙水，浓度 3-5%
小迷思：
相信许多人与小编一样，在较为深入接触香水之前，
以为古龙水是专门给男性使用，
但其实只是男性通常习惯选择香精浓度的古龙水，
才会产生这个误会～女生也可以喷古龙水！
香水的基调
就像一首乐曲是由许多音符 (notes) 所组成，
香水也依据组成成分区分为 top notes, heart notes, base notes：
top / head notes
称作前味，是香水的门面，也就是香水刚从香水瓶喷出后的味道，
前味通常以较轻、小的粒子组成，挥发快，
因此前味持续 5-15 分钟后，便进入中味。
一般常见的前味为果香 (citrus scent)，
如柑橘 (mandarin)、佛手柑 (bergamot) 或花香 (floral scent)，
例如橙花香 (neroli) 、玫瑰 (rose) 、茉莉 (jasmine) 等。

heart / middle notes
为中味，组成 70% 香水成分，功能为结合前味的余韵、并带入新的气味，
持续时间为 20 至 60 分钟。气味通常为花香或果香的精油。

base notes
后味，为香水的基底，通常气味浓厚、渗入肌肤，
因此持续时间可达 6 小时以上，常见的后味有香草 (vanilla) 、麝香 (musk) 、檀香 (sandalwood) 。
接下来使用上述香水知识及用法进行一段地道日常完整对话：
: You smell so good today! New Perfume?
: 你今天身上的味道好香！新买的香水吗？
: Good nose! But it's not a perfume. Technically, it's an eau de toilette.
: 鼻子很灵嘛！但这不是香水，这是淡香水。
: What's the difference between these two?
: 两者差在哪里？
: The concentration, aka (also known as) perfume-oil-to alcohol ratio, is different. Perfume has higher concentration than eau de toilette, so it has a stronger scent profile and lasts longer on your skin.
: 两者的浓度，也就是香精与酒精的比例不同。香水 (perfume) 的浓度比淡香水 (toillette) 高，
所以它的味道比较强烈，在肌肤上持续的时间也比较长。
: And what's in the perfume?
: 那香水是由什么做的？
: The headnotes consist of bergamot oil and orange oil. The heartnotes are composed of rose accord and jasmine accord. And the base notes are amber gris and musks. And...given by your look, you know nothing about what I just said.
: 前味由佛手柑与柑橘精油组成；中味包含玫瑰与茉莉香；后味则是龙涎与麝香。 ...看你的表情，你没听懂我刚刚说的每一句话。
: Nope. But it sounds cool.
: 没错，但听起来蛮有趣的。
: Well, google it if you're interested.

: Will do! By the way, where did you get this fragrance?
: 会的。话说你在哪里买这款香水？
: Penhaligon's. And this one, called Luna, becomes my signature scent. I'm gonna wear it every day to work.
