offensive 进攻

你所熟知的 offensive 是形容词，意思是 "冒犯的" ，

但除了形容词之外，offensive 当名词时，

wound 伤害

wound 当名词的时候，意思是 "伤口" ，

当动词的时候意思是 "伤害、使创伤" ，

并且要注意 wound 的三态是 wound - wounded - wounded，

而 wind（蜿蜒、绕）的三态则是 wind - wound - wound。

slay 残杀、谋害

slay 的三态是 slay - slew - slain，

take over 接管、接收

take over 的意思是 "接管、接收" ，

可以是军事上的、政治上的，或是企业上的。

而 take 和 over 合在一起就变成名词，

takeover 意思一样是 "接管、接收" 。

govern 统治、治理

The colony was governed directly by the King.

flee 逃跑

要注意 flee 的三态是 flee - fled - fled
